Jaisalmer railway station gets Rs 140-crore heritage makeover under Amrit Barat station scheme

Jaisalmer Railway Station’s redevelopment is complete, blending heritage and modern passenger facilities. The station now features golden-yellow sandstone exteriors and G+2 structure covering 8,327 square metres. Ten lifts, ten escalators, and two foot overbridges enhance passenger convenience and access. Commercial assets like kiosks and restaurants are outsourced, generating non-fare revenue for railways. This upgraded station aims to boost tourism and accelerate economic activity in Jaisalmer.
