Endangered wild cat sighted in Jaisalmer, forest dept ramps up monitoring

Jaisalmer’s Forest Department is deploying motion-sensing cameras in Ghotaru to track the endangered caracal, a rare wild cat. Recent findings confirm the presence of three caracals, including a previously radio-collared individual. Awareness campaigns are underway to mitigate human-wildlife conflict, urging villagers to report livestock predation instead of harming the animals.
