First in India: Captive-bred great Indian bustards released into wild in Jaisalmer

Two male Great Indian Bustards were released into the wild as part of a conservation effort. This release marks a significant milestone in India’s wildlife protection initiatives. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav highlighted the scientific efforts leading to this event. The birds were monitored closely after being fitted with satellite tags to track their adaptation. This initiative aims to rebuild the declining population of the Great Indian Bustard.
