Endangered Caracal killed, burnt in Jaisalmer border area; one detained

An endangered Caracal was allegedly hunted and its carcass burnt in Jaisalmer’s Shahgarh border area. Forest officials recovered charred remains and are collecting biological samples for genetic analysis to aid future research and conservation. One suspect has been detained, with a search ongoing for others.
