Country’s first-ever GIB chick hatched through AI at Jaisalmer breeding centre

The Bustard Recovery Program in Jaisalmer celebrated a historic achievement by producing India’s first Great Indian Bustard chick through artificial insemination. Semen was collected from a male GIB and used to inseminate a female, resulting in the chick’s birth. This groundbreaking accomplishment bolsters conservation efforts for the critically endangered species.
